The long Winters nights are passing by, but the dark evenings do give me the chance to do some more hackery. I wanted to give my website a bit of a refresh but I didn’t want to spend a long time on the development/testing time for it.

I came across very handy tool called Jekyll which can be used to turn your favourite markdown into a nice site. Simple right? Pretty much.

There are tens if not hundreds of free themes available to help you get your site up and running in the style that you want. Or if you are not happy you can fork an existing template project and modify it to match your needs. If you really have some design skills you can make your own templates too.

For more information on Jekyll have a look at their github and documentation pages.
